This past Tuesday Republicans were victorious in two national high profile elections. Conservative Republican Bob McDonnell won his election over Democrat Creigh Deeds for the Virginia Governorship, and Republican Chris Christie defeated New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine. There were also numerous state and local elections all across America that went for the Republican nominee, many of whom were elections that went for the Dems in 2008 and 2006.
I think this is a sign that in next years Congressional elections the Republicans, if they play their cards right, could make major head way. A lot of Americans are backlashing from the uber-liberal policies being put forth by the White House and by the democratically controlled House and Senate. This is just a sign that voters can indeed make a difference in politics, but it starts at the local levels. What I think is just as important as the high profile elections held Tuesday were all the local and state elections that went for the Republicans. This is where the movement has to start. In order for Republicans at the national level to gain control there must be a large push toward conservatism locally. City Council seats, County Commissioner seats and State Legislative seats must be won by Republicans.
This past Tuesday was just a little taste I think of what is to come in 2010. I think the great people of these United States are finally waking up and seeing that the liberal policies the White House and Congress are trying to push through is not what the majority of our nation wants.
Lets keep putting pressure on Congress and if they don't do what we have sent them to Washington to do, then we have the ability to vote them out of office. In 2010 we have the power to turn Congress completely on its head. Congressman and Senators take note, we will vote you out of office if you try to ram down our throats these liberal, non logical policies.
And that is my two cents for today.
